Warning: Quicktime 7.5
It appears that Quicktime 7.5 update released by Apple this week may be causing 3D Export functionality to stop working, at least for some customers (including myself).
I am working on an update to Bee Docs' Timeline that will fix the issue. My goal for the release is Friday.
Until then, please avoid the upgrade to Quicktime 7.5 if you are using Bee Docs' Timeline 3D Edition. Thank you for your patience and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Update (June 13, 2008)
This QuickTime incompatibility has now been fixed with release number 2.1.2. Please use "Check for Updates" to download the update. Note that the update is only for the 3D Edition.

Hi
It worked with QuickTime 7.5 when I tried it this morning. Then I restarted the Mac and the 3D feature does not launch as you mention. But now I can't go back in QuickTime and we hoped to use your software this afternoon, now we are stuck ! ;-) We will wait for the next opportunity. Thank you
Thank you for the Quick update!
Ok...that was impressive. You said you would get it done by Friday and you did! I just bought it yesterday and needed a rough version for a project I'm doing and couldn't export it via Quicktime and today I can get it done. Thanks!
Adam...I am not worthy!! Like John, I too needed to export to Quicktime for a big presentation Saturday,14 June and I thought, "is he going to come through?"
Well, you obviously did, and I am both grateful, and a customer for life!
Keep up the great work. Now go have a beer. You deserve it!!
Cheers,
Doug
I use the trial version of Timeline 3D and the 3D-Mode (fullscreen) does not work (also after update). Any ideas?
Sorry, but for me it doesn't work, too. I want to use 3D (fullscreen) nothing happens, i I click on the 3D-Button or use the shortcut ctrl+f.

The lack of full screen 3D is a different issue. In every case so far, it has been a bug with the "Logitech Control Center 2.4" which hijacks the communications ports of other applications (which is evil). See this technical discussion.
In fact, LCC seems like an application that causes lots of heartache
If you have the Logitech Control Center, it looks like the best thing to do in the short term is to remove Logitech Control Center as it is probably breaking other applications on your system too. I am also investigating work a fix for a future update. If you do not have the Logitech Control Center 2.4 installed on your machine send me an e-mail and we can investigate other potential causes.
Recently a customer with this problem noted that a product called Steermouse is able to reproduce much of the functionality of LCC without all of the problems associated with LCC. Yesterday, another customer said that Logitech just released LCC 2.6 which also seems to resolve the problem.
Hi Adam,
you're right. Without the LCC the 3D-mode works without any problems. I updated these driver to the latest version 2.6 and everything runs well.
This is the first time I have problems with applications in connection with LCC. But the LCC 2.6 is the best way (for me), because I don't like SteerMouse. :-)
Your fast answer persuade me to purchase a license for your application.
Thanks a lot.
Adam,
The 3D export is working, but I am not able to lengthen the event duration. Is this a bug?
Is there any way that Timeline could allow us to export a quicktime movie with manual advance - as you can from Keynote? That would be the ultimate way to replicate the fantastic style of the software's presentation and keep control of the timing....
Mark - Yes that is a bug that I thought we fixed in 2.1.2 but it still an issue for some customers. I haven't resolved it yet, but hope to in the next release.
Peter - Please see this discussion on a previous blog entry. Using Keynote to set up manual advance for timeline movies is a relatively straight forward process.
hey
Really nice tips!
will try to keep it in my mind
thanks!
